Valerie A. Cadez is a graduate of Melvindale High School. She has been married to Melvindale Police Chief Rick Cadez for 34 years. They are blessed with four wonderful Children and three awesome grandchildren. Val has served the City of Melvindale as the Mayor Pro Tem for four years and City Clerk for eight years. She has been involved in the Beautification Committee and served as the Chairman for over twelve years. Val has a great love and passion for our “Little City with the BIG heart”. She feels it is a great honor and privilege to now serve as the Mayor for the people of this city that are so close to her heart.
