COVID – 19 Quarantine Response Initiative

Effective immediately, per the State and or Federal guidelines being enforced for Health and Safety regarding the COVID -19 virus the location for the City of Melvindale located at 3100 Oakwood Boulevard, Melvindale, MI, has been temporarily closed to the public.  However, we will still be maintaining a strong online accessible presence in order to continue to assist in providing timely and efficient services.  We will be continuously monitoring our phone calls, email and mail for all incoming communication.

•    Drop boxes: Residents can avoid coming inside City Hall and use the 24-hour drop box. Checks must be placed in a sealed envelope and placed in the drop box no later than 5 p.m. on the due date.    Please note: Building Department on check or envelope

•    By mail: Bill payments can be sent to the City of Melvindale through USPS.

How the 2020 Census Impacts Our Community

"The results of the 2020 Census will help determine how hundreds of billions of dollars in federal funding flow into communities every year for the next decade. That funding shapes many different aspects of every community, no matter the size, no matter the location." (  Funding for educational programs, school lunches, highways, state grants, medicaid, prevention & treatment for substance abuse, and many other important areas are impacted by our participation in the 2020 Census.

DTE 2020 Tree Trimming Map

During 2020, DTE Energy is planning to trim trees within the City of Melvindale.  The areas they will be trimming are shaded green on the map linked below.  Additional tree work may be necessary based on circuit performance to improve reliability.  Severe weather, or other circumstances may change the timing and extent of the work.
