Street Sweeping

During the months of April through November, the Department of Public Works operates their street sweeper. Signs are posted on each street indicating days and hours of operation. The Melvindale Police Department enforces these parking restrictions on a daily basis. Please keep your vehicles legally parked on your designated day.

Snow Emergency

Upon snow emergency declaration by the Mayor of the City of Melvindale, vehicles are to be removed from the streets allowing the plows to operate. Failure to comply with this declaration may result in a violation being issued, and/or your vehicle being impounded. Snow emergencies will be announced on local television and radio stations, as well as the cable community channel.

Emergency Siren

The City of Melvindale emergency siren is test activated every Saturday at 1:00 p.m. The siren will be activated for residents to take cover during severe weather or other emergency situations.
