D.A.R.E.
Drug Awareness Resistance Education is a national program designed to reach Jr. High youth. The program deals with more than “Say No To Drugs”, and centers on the self-esteem of each student. The lack of self-esteem has been found to be a contributor to peer pressure, which can introduce narcotics to our students. The building of self-esteem shows a direct link in beiing able to “Say No To Drugs”.
Law Day
Sponsored by the 24th District Court, located in Allen Park, Michigan, the Melvindale Police Department participates in this spring event. The purpose of this event is to introduce children of all ages to the criminal justice system.
